Parliament debates the “More Housing” program on May 19

The conference of parliamentary leaders scheduled this Wednesday for May 19 the debate on the Government program “More Housing” and for the 10th the discussion on the Great Options for 2023-2026.

The agenda of the debate was announced by the spokeswoman for the conference of leaders, Maria da Luz Rosinha, in statements to journalists in parliament at the end of the meeting.

On the 10th, the agenda also includes the discussion of the PCP bill on the return of funds from the Automobile Guarantee Fund and a petition proposing the creation of a day for people with intellectual disabilities. The “More Housing” package includes, among other measures, direct support for rentals, the suspension of new local accommodation licenses and the revaluation of existing ones, the forced leasing of unoccupied homes in conditions to be inhabited and coercive works in homes unemployed, the end of “golden” visas and the simplification of licenses.

On March 30, the Council of Ministers approved the remaining measures of the Mais Habitação program, which were the subject of public consultation.
