It generated an intense and long discussion, in which the opposition parties demanded a hearing with a long grid —which has been the rule of the parliamentary commissions of inquiry— against a shorter version applied in 20 of the 28 hearings already held in this research on the political protection of the public management of TAP. The short grid was applied to listen to the 12 TAP unions, but ended up being used in other auditions. It was planned by the president of the Parliamentary Investigation Commission (CPI) that it would also be used in the three hearings this week and he had already communicated it to the businessman and former TAP shareholder, Humberto Pedrosa.
Faced with the objection of the deputies —Paulo Moniz from the PSD considered the option imprudent, Mariana Mortágua from the Bloco expressed her discontent and Bruno Dias from the PCP astonished, Jorge Seguro Sanches left the room, to reflect on his continuity at the head of the IPC to TAP. He left in his place the vice president of the PSD, Paulo Rios de Oliveira, who, after a tie in which each deputy was worth one vote, used his casting vote to impose the long hearing that ended after all, for not being so long. It lasted just over three hours.
