Parques de Sintra workers on strike Thursday and Friday for better working conditions

“This clause, along with others contained in this EA proposal, may mean work days of 9.5 hours a day, without monetary compensation and without breaksin addition to the systematic deregulation of the personal and family life of the workers”, said Carlos Faia Fernandes.

The trade unionist added that the workers demand that the new salary table be included in a “fair and transparent” manner.

“The workers also ask for the implementation of a career system that values ​​the different professions and not a single career that covers more than half of the workers, the regulation and updating of the subsidies paid, as well as the payment of 100%, for all workers, overtime on weekly rest days and holidays,” he said.

Contacted by the Lusa agency, the Board of Directors (CA) of Parques de Sintra reported that it reached an agreement with the Union of Public Administration Workers (SINTAP) for the revision of the company’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, which will allow ” the highest growth in the wage bill in the history of the company”.

As indicated in a note, on April 5, Parques de Sintra began a negotiation process for the revision of the company’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with SINTAP and STAL, which had the objective of “updating the salary tables, a clear improvement of working conditions and appreciation of seniority”.

“An agreement was reached with SINTAP, which approved the document in plenary session of workers, and the proposal was sent on May 17 to the State shareholder for approval,” he added.

According to the BoD, this negotiation made it possible to reach an agreement that “guarantees the sustainable valuation of its wage bill, the operational functioning and the future of the company.” “The goals achieved imply the highest growth in the wage bill in the history of the company”he is stressed.
