Taxes accounted for around half the price of gasoline and diesel in August

Taxes represented 52.2% of the total retail price of gasoline and 46.6% of the diesel bill, in August, when the Government updated the carbon tax, according to data from the regulator, released this Thursday .

According to the Fuel and LPG Market Report for the month of August, published by the Energy Services Regulatory Entity (ERSE), the retail price (RRP) of plain gasoline decreased by 2.2%), following the behavior of the markets international, with Most of the RRP paid by the consumer corresponds to the tax component, which represents 52.2% of the total gasoline bill, followed by pricing and shipping (32.4%).

In August, ERSE recalled, the Government updated the value of the additional on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, commonly known as the carbon tax, which represents an increase of 3.3 cents per liter of gasoline compared to what was in force in July.

The operating costs and marketing margin, the incorporation of biofuels and the logistics and constitution of strategic reserves together represented around 15.4% of the average RRP of simple 95 gasoline.

In the case of simple diesel, the RRP also decreased in August (-2.7%) and most of the RRP paid by the consumer also corresponded to the tax component (46.6%).

In this case, the carbon tax update represented an increase of 3.7 cents per liter compared to the previous month.

The price and freight value represented 35% of the total RRP, while operating costs and marketing margin, the incorporation of biofuels, logistics and the constitution of strategic reserves together represented around 18.4% of the average RRP. of simple diesel.

Regarding automobile liquefied petroleum gas (Auto LPG), the carbon tax update represented an increase of 4.3 cents per liter compared to July.

The average RRP increased 1.2% compared to the previous month and the majority paid by the consumer also corresponds to the tax component (52.2%), followed by quote and shipping (36.1%) and costs and margin (11 .7%).
