The Finance Minister’s hearing this Monday marks the start of consideration of the proposed State Budget for 2025 (SO2025) in parliament, in a process that will culminate in the final global vote on November 29.
The deputies will listen to Joaquim Miranda Sarmento this Monday in plenary, at 3:00 p.m., as part of the general balance, of the OE2025 proposal, which is already guaranteed thanks to the abstention of the PS.
The minister will present the main aspects of the proposal delivered on October 10 to the Assembly of the Republic, after negotiations marked by the discussion around the IRS Jovem, which ended with a formulation closer to the current one designed by the previous PS government, and the IRC, whose reduction will be one percentage point next year.
On Tuesday it will be the turn of the Minister of Labor, Solidarity and Social Security, with the hearing also scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by the general debate and vote, on October 30 and 31.
On November 4, the evaluation of this specialty begins, in the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Committee (COFAP), with hearings of all the ministers and also of some institutions and bodies such as the Court of Accounts, the Economic and Social Council and the Public Council. Finance Council.
Toward Auditions end on November 15.day that also marks the end of the deadline for the parties to present their proposals for changes to the document.
Then, from November 22 to 29, there will be discussion in the plenary session in the morning and voting in COFAP in the afternoon, with the final global vote scheduled for the 29th.
In OE2025, the Government forecasts economic growth of 2.1% next year, a budget surplus of 0.3% and that public debt will be reduced to 93.3% of GDP.
