Left-wing activist and filmmaker Michael Moore used Friday’s podcast “Rumble Michael Moore” to call for the complete repeal of the Second Amendment on the situation of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
“I know there are leaders in the Democratic Party that I don’t want to say we’re going to lose,” Moore said.
I’m not apologizing for that because I understand the history of this country and I think we shouldn’t be afraid to talk about it. Repeal the second amendment. Repeal the Second Amendment. ”
Moore added: “That’s all. This is what we have to do. We need to start a movement to repeal the Second Amendment and replace it with something that says it’s not about one’s right to own a gun, but that we all have the right to be protected from gun violence. We have the right to live.”
He concluded: “Almost 70% of us don’t have a gun. We have no weapons. We are not a gun-owning country. Your armed 30% are mostly law-abiding citizens. I don’t know what they’re going to use this weapon for. Hunters, I understand they love to hunt. For those who like to shoot on the shooting range, it’s fun to hit the target, that’s great, but in the shooting club, we have to do what other countries do when you store guns on the shooting range. You don’t need a gun at home. If you’re afraid someone might break in, get a dog. You don’t need a gun. You are more likely to harm yourself or other members of your family with this gun at home. ”
