The Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ) has condemned a former public defender for racial slurs against two men making deliveries at her apartment in Niterói, in the Rio metropolitan area. The retired maid called the workers “monkey” on March 30.
According to the victims’ report, the former defender would have been excited as the car was parked in a place that prevented his vehicle from moving. According to the MP’s complaint, the woman left the house and has already filed a criminal complaint and ordered the van to be removed. She then allegedly slapped the windows and threw two stones at the car.
The assistant said he couldn’t drive the van because he didn’t have a driver’s license and would wait for a colleague who was delivering to a nearby home. According to the complaint, the driver, who arrived at the scene about two minutes later, pulled the van off the road. At that moment, he would throw a soda can at the car.
According to the Deputy, the woman takes part in other police investigations for illegal embarrassment, culpable bodily harm, defamation and slander. In addition to the criminal complaint, the Department of Public has asked Justice to set a value for compensation for damages caused by the injury.
