Whoopi Goldberg told co-host Wensdidi on ABC’s “The View” that America would be in “profound stalemate” if former President Donald Trump was not prosecuted.
When discussing the work of the House Election Committee to Investigate on January 6, host Sunny Hostin said, “I think they already have over 100,000 documents. They’ve interviewed thousands of people. But something else I think we should keep in mind is that Merrick Garland has pretty much a “He’s a judge, not an attorney general. He should be a judge in the Supreme Court and he doesn’t want it to look like political persecution. It’s a two-sided committee. Selectors and in a criminal case they take it to the Justice Department and tie it with a bow, and they can continue the prosecution, which is not like a political prosecution.”
Goldberg said, “This is undeniable because it’s his own words. On the phone. It continues to be seen. Just here.
“Nixon is forgiven for things like that,” said guest host Lindsey Granger.
Host Joy Behar said, “There was a big difference between then and now. Nixon did not have a MAGA gang threatening people. She is not here.”
Granger said, “The idea is that it’s bad for the country. So I don’t want to make a decision just to be with the country.”
“It’s bad the country isn’t doing that because it will leave us in a position and that’s what we’re facing now,” Goldberg said. There are those who come to power and say, ‘I don’t know if I will support these elections’. So let’s surf for a while. If that doesn’t happen, we’re in a deep doo-doo. ”
