Farderyn Deonta Grier, the niece of rapper Young Thug, was arrested in an Atlanta suburb on charges of murdering her boyfriend.
East Point, Georgia police were called to a home they held and found Grier crying and his girlfriend, Destiny Fitzpatrick, lying in blood on the front door of the house, TMZ reported.
East Point police spokesperson Allyn Glover told TMZ that Grier told officers that the rapper was the nephew of his older sister’s son, Young Thug, and that he and the victim were approached by two gunmen and someone shot him.
However, upon further questioning, police revealed that Grier told them he had an argument with Fitzpatrick and killed him by shooting him in the face.
The rapper’s men confirmed to the police that Grier is Young Thug’s nephew.
Grier was arrested and charged with murder.
Young Bandit is still in jail pending the outcome of the RICO indictment against him in May.
The rapper, whose real name is Jeffrey Lamar Williams, was arrested along with 28 others for gang crimes and imprisoned in the Fulton County Jail.
Long stays in prison were relatively rare, but district prosecutors convinced the judge that if the rapper and alleged gang members were released, they could intimidate or hurt witnesses in the case against him.
The RICO case won’t go to court until next January.
