Trevor Noah criticizes cancellation culture: ‘We should all have a chance at salvation’

comedy hub daily show Host Trevor Noah is the latest comedian to publicly denounce cancellation culture, saying that people become too quick to judge others. He also said that everyone deserves a chance to save themselves.

Trevor Noah joins a growing list of comedians who are blaming cancellation culture as a harmful trend not just for the comedy world but for society as a whole. Opponents of cancellation culture include Dave Chappelle, Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, John Cleese, and Rowan Atkinson.

Trevor Noah said this in an interview. VariationThe Awards Circuit podcast Thursday, but didn’t use the term “cancellation culture” in its name.

“I think it’s very convenient for us to reject people, throw them out right away, and make them immutable characters,” he said. “I actually think we should all be given a chance to save ourselves. We should all have a chance at salvation.”

During the podcast, Noah defended Kanye West, who was banned from this year’s Grammy Awards, and the hosts showed his “online behavior”. (Noah hosted the Grammys in April.)

“People are ironic,” Noah said. “We can love the people we hate, we can hate the people we love. People as a whole are a complex paradox. That’s why I don’t want to live in a world where we trash people all the time.”
