Call the waking up police. A nightclub in Sydney, Australia, has banned customers from looking at each other unless the person looking at each other has prior verbal permission.
Failure to do so could result in expulsion from the newly declared “safe area” and so-called local law enforcement.
This place also discourages people from going if their “only purpose” is to meet someone to “get it”.
Club 77 is in the heart of Australia’s largest city and used stare as an example of action against the new security and harassment policy.
The policy was announced in an Instagram post earlier this month, and the club added that pink vest “security guards” would patrol the area to strictly enforce the tracking ban.
Club 77 said it recently updated its rules because it “brings in some people who don’t share our values and ethics when it comes to club culture”.

This was announced by club co-owner Dan Gorrell. Daily Telegram The newspaper hasn’t kicked anyone out of the club to watch, but it does want to lay out the ground rules for health and safety in a public forum so everyone feels welcome.
“There is someone who can look at someone and bother him, he can stare at him for a long time. People want to go out, they want to feel safe, they don’t want to be followed, the response has been very positive.”
So far, no specific example has been given of what an unwanted stare is as opposed to a club member innocently trying to make eye contact with another.
It has been suggested that if the person being looked at gets angry, the clubber looking in the direction can be kicked out.
The club has garnered both widespread praise and criticism for its steadfast stance.
“Thanks for keeping an eye on your people,” one reveler wrote, while another wrote, “Wow, I love the idea of a security guard!”
But not all fans.
“Too much! Now everyone is looking down! Omg where is the world going! What a pity,” one woman commented on her Instagram post.
“The stupidity of these rules ensures that the only guests at this club are representatives of the snowflake generation. Good luck here,” another subscriber wrote.

“I’ve been running nightclubs for years, it’s a very smart strategy,” says a former nightclub manager.
“I got fired for looking at someone. So if the security guard looks at me, will they fire him?” the third asked.
One disagreed: “This is not an exaggeration, it is a responsibility. It’s good that 77 is calling for this kind of behavior and creating a safe space for everyone.”
