Actor James Caan, 82, died Wednesday night. The news was announced on his official account of the social network Twitter, without disclosing the cause of death.
The American actor became known for his participation in the Hollywood classic “The Godfather”, having also participated in several films of the 1970s and 1980s, such as “Thief” (1981), “Rollerball” (1975), “Gardens of Stone” (1987) and “Kiss Me Goodbye” (1982). Born in the Bronx in 1940, the actor initially tried to pursue a career as a football player, but became interested in acting while studying at Hofstra University. It was here that he met “The Godfather” director Francis Ford Coppola. According to The Guardian, her first major debut, still on stage, was “Blood, Sweat and Stanley Pool” in 1961.
More recently, James Caan had appeared in “Elf” (2003), alongside Will Ferrel, Zooey Deschanel, Peter Dinklage and Jon Favreau, and also in the “It Rains Meatballs” franchise.
