Christine McVie, Fleetwood Mac singer-songwriter, dies at 79

British singer-songwriter Christine McVie, who was part of Fleetwood Mac and wrote some of the London-based group’s best-known songs, died on Wednesday at the age of 79, her family said.

“(…) It is with great regret that we reported the death of Christine???????? He passed away peacefully in the hospital this morning, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, after a sudden illness,” the family wrote on Facebook.

The keyboardist was also behind hits like Little Lies, Everywhere, Don’t Stop, Say You Love Me and Songbird.

Asking for privacy, the family said that while they “would like everyone to keep Christine in their hearts and remember the life of an incredible and a revered musician who was universally loved????????

On Facebook, Fleetwood Mac mourned the death, saying that Christine McVie was “unique, special and talented????????

“He was the best musician anyone could ask for in his band and the best friend anyone could have in their life. We were very lucky to have a life with her.”, wrote the British group.

Christine McVie left Fleetwood Mac in 1998 after 28 years, returning in 2014.

Born Christine Perfect in Bouth, UK, the artist married Fleetwood Mac bassist John McVie and joined that rock band in 1971.
