Jorge Palma returns to records after 12 years with the album “Vida”

Jorge Palma’s new album, ‘Vida’, will be released on the 28th, marking the return to records after 12 years without recording, from the album ‘Com todo o Respeito’ (2011), the musician’s promoter announced Thursday.

“This time, the study process was longer than in previous recordings”writes the promoter from Palma, in the statement released this Thursday, adding that the musician, in recent years, “has been divided between studying and concerts.”

Jorge Palma, with more than 50 years of career, quoted in the promoter’s statement, points out that “The studio is like a laboratory, a place where we have to perfect our intonation, diction, everything”.

“Vida” will have a special edition, with a box that, in addition to the disc, will have a facsimile of the first draft of the song that gives its name to the disc, and even a ‘booklet’ in book format, with photographs. and registration documents and process tests.

Regarding the chosen title, Jorge Palma states in the same statement: “I spent a long time looking for a title for this record and couldn’t find anything significant. During the recording of the album, after having already recorded several songs, I remembered a song that I had written before entering the studio and that was incomplete. This song is called ‘Life’. I finished it and realized it made perfect sense to name this album after him.”

“It became ‘Life,’ why not? Just because!”underlines the musician who turns 73 next June.

“A record is something very special, it is a milestone that always represents a stage in my life,” says the musician.

The presentation concert of “Vida” will take place on May 6 at the São Francisco Convent, in Coimbra, with the musician sharing the stage with some of the album’s guests.

Jorge Palma will perform, for his part, next Wednesday, at 10 pm, in the ‘arena lounge’ of the Casino Lisboa, as part of the celebration of the 17th anniversary of this venue.
