Senior Palestinian officials Jibril Rajoub described Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett as “a Nazi like Goebbels” and accused the Israeli prime minister of “ordering” the killing of Al Jazeera reporter Shirin Abu Akle in a network interview.
“The Prime Minister – this is Goebbels, this is Nazi, this is fascist – said yesterday: ‘Abu Mazen wants to destroy our image and I support my soldiers,'” Rajoub told Al Jazeera, referring to Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestinian administration under the pseudonym.

“He ordered[Abu Akle to be killed]. Rajoub, secretary of the central committee of Abbas’ ruling Fatah faction, continued:
He made a comparison with the war in Ukraine and referred to Russia’s statements on the fight against neo-Nazis.
“What’s going on in Ukraine – you see how they are [Russia] Admit it, and there are neo-Nazis here dealing with stuff like that,” he said.
Rajoub compared the past actions of the Israeli government to the Holocaust. In 2019, he said the “purpose” of the Israeli government was “to remind us of the Holocaust and Auschwitz”.

“In every city in Palestine, from Rafah to Jenin, there is an Israeli Auschwitz that will kill Palestinians,” he said.
Rajoub, a former security chief widely seen as Abbas’ possible successor, was accused of inciting terrorism and served time in Israeli prisons.
In 2017, Rajoub sought a subpoena and $250 million in damages after landing at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport for his alleged involvement in the 1995 murders of an American and a Palestinian.
