FNC presenter Bret Byer’s Chief of Staff Gen. Released on Friday, Mark Milley spoke about his time spent under the sometimes chaotic former President Donald Trump, as Milley has repeatedly admitted.
Milley reiterated his oath to the Constitution and insisted that the military be “apolitical”.
“We swear on the Constitution,” he replied. “We swear on the document. And this document contains the idea. This document encodes the idea that it is America. And for me – for my mother and father – my mother was in the Great Patriotic War. My father was in WWII. They are fighting for something. They fought for the idea. They fought each other in the sense that they were fighting other people in the unit. But more broadly, they fought for the idea that America is, that all Americans are created equal, and that the Creator gives us life, freedom, and the pursuit of happiness. And we all have fundamental American rights to freedom and liberty. ”
“And we, in uniform, take a sacred oath to protect, at the cost of our lives, all men, all women, whoever you are, black, white, even you, Asian, or Indian, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Jewish,” he continued. Milly.” None of this matters. The important thing in this country is that we are all Americans. We are all one nation. We are all Americans, no matter where we come from, no matter what our last name is. It doesn’t matter anymore. We are american. And we are committed to freedom and liberty. Our job is to ensure that we continue to do so.”
Milley admitted that he was considering resigning amid tensions with former President Donald Trump. However, he insisted that the Constitution set a precedent in such cases.
“Well, again, I come back to the fact that my guiding star is the Constitution,” he added. “And I built that as my core, the core core of who I am as a soldier. And here we must remain military. We must be apolitical. No matter which party is in power, we do not interfere with the politics of the time, and we fulfill our oath to the Constitution.”
