The mayor of Cascais, the Social Democrat Carlos Carreiras, 60, was hospitalized and will have “a few more days of convalescence” ahead of him.
According to information released by Carreiras himself, in a post on his Facebook account, the mayor was infected with Covid-19, but the “the symptoms were even very mild”.
However, says Carreiras, with the “necessary overdose of medication” in addition to those he already takes for blood pressure and cholesterol, an ulcer has flared up and caused blood loss. The situation caused the mayor to lose consciousness “three times”, thanks to voltage drops.
“Life tried to play a trick on me” summarizes Carreiras, in the publication in which he also thanks the firefighters, the INEM and the Cascais hospital.
And he concludes: “I do not accept that they can say that they were like that because I was in the positions in which I am, since I followed the treatment of many other citizens and everyone treated them with the greatest affection, concern and professionalism. ”.
