The entry salary in the public administration of assistant technicians and senior technicians is expected to rise by around 48 euros and 52 euros, respectively, as indicated on Wednesday by the leader of the Common Front, after meetings with the Government.
The remuneration for admission to the career of technical assistant and senior technician is one of the issues that are being debated between the three trade union structures of the public function and the Secretary of State for Public AdministrationsInês Ramires, at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, in Lisbon.
“The proposal for technical assistants is a difference of 47 euros and a few cents for the national minimum wage”, which is 705 euros, said the coordinator of the Common Front, Sebastião Santana, noting that “ten years ago that difference was much higher than 100 euros”.
Currently, technical assistants enter the public administration with a salary of 709.46 euros (level five of the Single Remuneration Table), for which the the entrance fee should increase to 757.01 euros (corresponding to level six of the table).
“With a view to raising the national minimum wage that has been discussed in the public square to 750 euros, in January we will have the same problem, which is a new compression in the table,” said Sebastião Santana.
As for the entry salary of senior technicians, which today is 1,007.49 euros for interns and 1,215.93 euros for graduates, there will be a “promotion from a paid position compared to what currently exists, in first and second position”, said the leader of the Communal Front.
This means that there will be an increase of around 52 euros in the entry salary of senior technicians, both for interns (up to 1,059.59 euros) and for graduates (up to 1,268.04 euros).
According to Sebastião Santana, the date of entry into force of the new values ”is one of the issues under negotiation” with the Government and will cover all workers who are currently in these positions.
Another of the points discussed was the assessment according to academic qualifications. (Doctorate).
The three union structures of the public administration they met for the first time on April 20 with the Minister of the Presidency, Mariana Vieira da Silva, and with the Secretary of State Inês Ramires, to define the priority issues for the negotiation.
