This Tuesday, the President of the Republic congratulated the Government for supporting Ukraine’s candidacy process to the European Union.
Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who as President of the Portuguese Republic will be in charge of rectifying a future Accession Treaty, greeted “with the decision of the Government to support the candidacy of that European State [Ucrânia] member of the European Union“, informs the website of the Presidency.
This Tuesday, Prime Minister António Costa said on the social network Twitter that he had spoke on the phone with Volodymyr Zelensky. Costa confirmed to the Ukrainian president that, following the opinion of the European Commission, Portugal will support the granting of candidate country status to Ukraine.
