Pinto Luz: “The leadership of the PSD is eclectic”

Miguel Pinto Luz’s interview with Rádio Observador was arranged when it was not yet known that he would be chosen by Luís Montenegro to be a PSD deputy, and it took place minutes after the announcement was made. The recently announced deputy took the opportunity to praise the new team and those who made “sacrifices” and abdicated their “personal ambitions”, all in the name of party cohesion and leaving behind the “almost dark” times (read, by Rui Rio) in which promoted the cult of “unique thought”.

The invitation, reveals Pinto Luz in this interview, was made this Saturday, while the congress was taking place, which will serve to prepare what should be a “long cycle”, of four years. I warn anyone who is tempted to make an internal opposition: “Whoever is in a tactical attitude waiting for a slip or for this to go wrong, is doing the party a disservice.” For now, the Montenegrin PSD – the same one it faced in the internal elections – must be given “time” to organize itself and make António Costa’s legs shake.
