Colorado Democrats, Gov. Jared Polis (Democrat) explains a series of public benefits for illegal immigrants that are expected to cost state taxpayers millions.
As part of the legislative package signed last year, Police and Democrats have made more public benefits such as dental insurance, family services, business permits and professional licenses open to nearly 300,000 illegal immigrants.
Similarly, Police and Democrats ensure that illegal aliens are now eligible for taxpayer-funded subsidies to pay property taxes, rent, and electricity bills. This expansion alone will cost taxpayers about $12 million a year.
The effort comes after the administration of President Joe Biden approved Colorado Democrats’ plan to provide subsidized health insurance to illegal immigrants. Colorado officials hope to enroll approximately 10,000 illegal immigrants in the subsidized health insurance program in the first year, and more each year thereafter.
Similarly, Police signed a bill that will make illegal pregnant aliens and their children eligible for Medicaid from 2025. The plan will cost taxpayers about $30 million a year, and the federal government pays most of the costs.
Colorado’s rapid expansion to attract illegal aliens to the state serves as a par with states like California, Illinois, and New York, which provide illegal aliens with driver’s licenses, health insurance, deportation protection, and other benefits.
