The Assembly of the Republic postponed this Friday the conclusion of the revision of the Parliament’s Regulations for the beginning of September, at the request of the PSD and with the favorable vote of the PS.
Initially, the working group, where the initiatives of all the benches are debated, had set itself the objective that the proposals for revision of the Regulation would be voted on in the last plenary session before the holidays, on July 21.
However, this Friday, at the beginning of the meeting, it was announced that the PSD requested that “the term for the conclusion of this process be extended until the beginning of September”, so that “it does not end without time for reflection and the necessary balance of the regiment’s final solution”.
The candidacy was approved with votes in favor of PSD and PS, against Chega and abstention of IL, BE, PCP, Livre and PAN.
The coordinator of the working group, the socialist Pedro Delgado Alves, has already marked the next meeting for september 6at 3:00 p.m., and set as an objective that the proposals be voted on in the first plenary session after the parliamentary vacation.
Unlike the other benches, which criticized the postponement, the PS did not make a political statement on the PSD’s request, limiting Pedro Delgado Alves to pointing out the procedures to be followed with the postponement.
