While Zeldin was speaking at a campaign event in Fairport, New York, a gunman ran onto the scene Thursday night and apparently tried to stab him. Fortunately, Zeldin held the attacker’s wrist long enough for the other event participants to intervene and neutralize the attacker.
However, as noted by people like GOP strategist Arthur Schwartz and New York GOP President Nick Langworthy, Hole’s campaign sent out a press release noting the time and location of some upcoming campaign stops, hours before the failed attack on Zeldin. Zeldin.
Hochul said Zeldin and his team will spread “dangerous lies, disinformation and the far-right agenda” at these campaign events.

The governor of New York also told Zeldin that “leading abortionists, NRA enthusiasts and some extremist groups will be attending.”
Hochul urged his supporters to “respond to learn about the recent election fraud scandal, where Zeldin’s Electoral Integrity Task Force and his campaign photocopied more than 11,000 duplicate petition signatures.”
