Attorneys for Napa County, California dismissed what it called a “pattern” of drug charges in a drunk driving complaint against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul Pelosi.
Napa prosecutors filed criminal charges against Paul Pelosi, claiming he shot the driver “while he was under the influence of alcohol and drugs and both,” as Breitbart News reported on Tuesday. On Wednesday, prosecutors announced that the word “drugs” is just stereotyped language.
“I believe the drug reference is part of the legally stereotyped language in the complaint,” Pelosi’s attorney Amanda Bevins told Fox News.
The “template” claim was confirmed Wednesday by the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
“He is right. It is a template language that is automatically generated in the complaint. Our version is alcohol,” Assistant District Attorney Paul Gero confirmed to the broadcast.
On May 28, police arrested Paul Pelosi after his 2021 Porsche crashed into a 2014 Jeep at the junction of Highway 29. His blood alcohol level was 0.082 percent; In California, the legal limit is 0.08 percent. According to prosecutors, the two charges brought by the Napa District Attorney were “driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury and causing injury with a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher.” Napa Valley Registration.
