The Secretary of State for Tourism, Commerce and Services, Rita Marques, modified, through an ordinance published on Monday, some rules of the Transformar Turismo program with the aim of improving the management of the application process and the results of approved projects.
Transform Tourism is a Tourism of Portugal program, created by regulatory order of December 2021, to support investments aimed at public and private agents acting in the area of tourism, with the aim of promoting the valorization and qualification of the territory, as well as such as the development of innovative products, services and businesses.
The application of this regulatory framework has already made it possible to identify the need to make some adjustments in its wording, to ensure better management of the application process and ensure mechanisms that allow knowing the results of the projects that may be approved by the Program. leveraged in the territory”, justifies the ruler.
With the changes now introduced, the Transform Tourism Program is now may include specific notices for the submission of applications by competition or by invitationby the member of the Government responsible for the tourism sector, at the proposal of Turismo de Portugal.
These calls must contain information on the beneficiaries, the types of projects to be supported, the allocation, the conditions of eligibility and granting of financing, including increases, as well as the criteria for selecting the operations.
The diploma also modifies the rule that prevented access to any of the financial support lines of the program to beneficiary entities that, at the time of the application, had more than one project approved and not yet completed in the area of the Valorizar program, adding that this is possible “in exceptional situations, duly justified”.
