poll. Sum of votes for PSD, Basta and Liberal Initiative exceeds PS

If the elections were held today, the right-wing parties would have more votes than the PS, reveals the September Intercampus barometer from Correio da Manhã, CMTV and Jornal de Negócios.

After the PS reached 33.1% of voting intentions in the same survey last month, the ruling party now drops to 30.6%, with the distance with the PSD, which was around 10 percentage points, shortening to 6 —24.7% of those surveyed said they would vote for the party now headed by Luís Montenegro, if they were called to the polls.

Together with the voting intentions of Chega, which is consolidated as the third party force, with 9.2% (in August it had been 8.4%), and of the Liberal Initiative, which went from 7.1% on last month to 5.2%, the right would already exceed the results of the PS — 39.1%.

On the left, the Block obtains exactly the same percentage of IL, 5.2%, and the CDU does not exceed 2.9%. PAN, Livre and CDS have, respectively, 2.5%, 1.8% and 1.1% of the voting intentions.

In the direct comparison between the leaders of the two major parties, António Costa maintains an advantage: when asked who would be the best prime minister to face the current economic crisis, 43.6% of those surveyed voted for the secretary general of the ; 30% answered Luis Montenegro.
