The parliamentary group of the PS decided to take to the Assembly of the Republic a proposal to join the extraordinary support regime decreed by the Government to support families and citizens, after the loss of purchasing power caused by inflation. The idea is that the support in question is “unattachable”, that is, that it reaches people who have taxes on their income.
The proposal was detailed to the newspaper Público by the socialist deputy Miguel Cabrita. The objective is that the support does not stop covering “people with many difficulties and families with compromised income”, who would run the risk of seeing these supports withheld, the PS deputy told the newspaper.
Among the aid decreed by the Government to combat the loss of purchasing power of individuals and families, derived from inflation, there are amounts of 125 euros attributable to taxpayers with gross income of up to 2,700 euros, from 50 euros “per person to charge” (an extraordinary payment of this amount for each child and young person in charge of adults, up to 24 years of age, which will mainly benefit families and parents) and an extra monthly half pension for pensioners who earn up to 12 times the amount of the IAS.
