Our goal is for the agreement to be concluded as soon as possible and we will be very interested in shortening this timetable, above all because, as it is a medium-term agreement, which will affect the entire legislature, it would be useful, if possible, for some materialization of Some parts of this agreement can already be seen reflected in the Budget bill for 2023, it was highly desirable that it be so”, he stressed.
Miguel Fontes declined to provide information on the content of the proposals that could be part of OE2023, but said that the secretary of Tax Affairs, António Mendonça Mendes, would be present at the meeting on Wednesday.

President of the Portuguese Business Confederation convinced that there will be a pleasant surprise in the lowering of the IRC rate
Currently, given the crisis we are experiencing, I think it would be extremely beneficial to have this transversal reduction and, from there, see what impact it can have in the future,” the minister told reporters on the sidelines of a visit. to Portuguese companies at the MICAM footwear fair in Milan, Italy.
“I hope that in the negotiation of the income and competitiveness agreement and, later, in the General State Budgets, we can have that intention of reducing the IRC”, added the Minister of Economy at the time.
The President of the Government, António Costa, had indicated last week that the negotiations on the income and competitiveness agreement would begin in the Social Dialogue on Wednesday 21, according to the newspaper Eco.
As reported by the social partners to Lusa, a Social Dialogue meeting was scheduled for Wednesday within the framework of the annual calendar, which is previously defined, and the Government has not yet sent the usual call with the issues to be discussed, but in principle the meeting would be about the deal. On Monday night, the executive canceled this meeting, and then it became another meeting of the working group, presenting the proposal only on the 28th.
