And there are eight ministers who do not show up. PS protects AR ministers and opposition accuses socialists of “blockade”

The “jumprodillo” of the absolute majority has already entered the lexicon of this legislature. While the opposition criticizes the Government for preventing ministers from going to Parliament — eight since the beginning of the mandate -, the PS defends itself and says that it only rejected 15% of requirements presented. In the debate about the scrutiny of the (previous) government —when that majority did not yet exist— there were several denunciations about the “absolute power” of the PS.

This Wednesday morning, the coordinator of the Left Bloc, Catarina Martins, reacted vehemently to the heading of the request to listen to the new Minister of Health, Manuel Pizarro: “The practice was to allow the ministers to be heard, but it has changed”, wrote the leader of the bloc, adding that “the PS accepted António Costa’s request and stopped having shame of being the absolute majority“. For the also blocista deputy, José Soeiro, “you couldn’t call Marta Temido because she was leaving and Pizarro because she was coming in” and ironically: it is one of the “unjustifiable arguments” pointed out by the socialist majority.
