The Liberal Initiative deputy who supports and is part of the staff of Rui Rocha in the race for the lead admits that João Cotrim Figueiredo spoke to him “a few days before” to announce the decision to leave and that I immediately told him that I was going to support the deputy elected by Braga. Bernardo Blanco says that he will not leave Parliament if Carla Castro wins the elections, defends the postponement of the Liberal Convention to January and fears the death of the party if he wins the opposition wing by a “negative coalition.”
The IL deputy warns that, if the motivation is only to push the line of continuity -which he considers “successful” in the party-, this could make IL become a new CDS and run the risk of dying.
