French club Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the departure of the Argentine star Angel Di Maria from the team at the end of the current season, after the end of his contract.

A statement on the French club’s Twitter page states that he “would like to thank Ángel Di Maria for his seven seasons in the red and blue shirt, where he won 18 titles and became the best player in the club’s history.”

For his part, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, president of the French club, confirmed that “Angel Di Maria has left an indelible mark on the club’s history.”
He added: “He will be remembered by the fans as a player who had an outstanding and flawless approach as he defended the colors of our jersey with unwavering commitment.”

The 34-year-old Argentine veteran joined Saint-Germain from Manchester United in 2015 and made 294 appearances for the team in various competitions, scoring 91 goals, providing 113 assists and winning 5 league titles in France and 4 titles in each of the championships. French Cups, French League Cup and French Super Cup.

The striker, who is reportedly close to signing with Juventus, will play his final game for Paris Saint-Germain today against Metz in French Ligue 1.
