The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the referees for the confrontation between Al-Ahly from Egypt and Wydad from Morocco in the final of the African Champions League for this season of 2021-2022.
The Egyptian team is set to face their Moroccan counterpart in the final match of the tournament on May 30 at the “Mohammed V” stadium in Casablanca, Morocco.
‘Kef’ decided to assign the task of refereeing to South African referee, Víctor Gómez, as court referee, while he would be assisted by his compatriots Akili Soila and Lesotho Soro Fatswani.
And the Angolan, Helder Martínez, will be the fourth referee in the final match of the tournament.
The African Union has decided to appoint an Ethiopian referee, Malak Tesema, to manage video assistant technology “Al-Far” in the match, and will be assisted by Mohamed Abdullah of Sudan and Haitham Kirat of Tunisia.
Notably, Al-Ahly qualified for the final after beating Algeria’s ES Setif in a combined 6-2, while Wydad booked their place in the final tournament after beating Petro Atlético 4-2.
