Despite his absence from the training session on Wednesday due to injury, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara could be ready to participate in the Champions League finals against Real Madrid.
The Spanish international was injured in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Wolverhampton last Sunday on the final day of the English Premier League, but Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp assured Alcantara’s injury was “not bad.”
Klopp added: “(Alcantara) could train today (Thursday)… It’s surprisingly good (news).”
Another Liverpool midfielder, Brazilian Fabinho, took part in group training yesterday after missing the team’s last three games due to a hamstring injury.
Defenseman Joe Gomez, who has been sidelined for the last two games due to an ankle injury, is also training.
Liverpool are preparing for a fierce confrontation with Real Madrid in the Champions League final on Saturday.
