Spaniard Rafael Nadal won his 14th Roland Garros title by beating Norway’s Kasper Ruud in three sets without an answer.

According to Opta, Nadal furthered his record as the most decorated male Grand Slam player in history with 22 titles.

In 14 Roland Garros finals, Nadal won the title without losing a single set in 7 of them.

Among players who have played at least 8 Grand Slam finals, the Spaniard ranks second in winning percentage with 73.3%, behind only Pete Sampras with 77.8%.

Nadal won the Australian Open and Roland Garros for the first time in his professional career the same year.

Rafael won two Grand Slams in a row for the third time in his history, after winning Roland Garros and Wimbledon in 2008, and the Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open triples in 2010.

At 36 years and two days old, Nadal became the oldest player in history to win the Roland Garros title.

During his professional career, he won 63 clay court titles, 14 more than second-highest winner Guillermo Villas in the modern era.

Rafa also achieved his 92nd title in his professional career, becoming the fourth most decorated player behind Jimmy Connors (109), Roger Federer (103) and Ivan Lendl (94).
