‘For the whole family?’: Brewers criticize hosting Drag Queen show at Pride Night event

The Milwaukee Brewers were not pleased that a drag queen performance was included in the June 8 gay pride parade at American Family Field.

Brewers made the show an event for people 21 and older in response to critics who said the show was not family-friendly.

According to Fox 6, sponsor Aurora Health Care was also criticized for hosting the event and issued a statement praising “inclusivity.”

“We are committed to promoting and supporting equal health in our communities. That’s why we’re proud to partner with the Milwaukee Brewers for the fourth year at Pride Night and sponsor backpacks, pride flags and a special photo booth for tonight’s game.”

The event, announced by the team on the event page, featured a drag show with “DJ Drip Sweat” and drag performances of “Dora Diamond”, “Beth Anne Bodyworks”, “Dita Von” and “Marbella”.

“Celebrate our local LGBTQ community with special performances, local entertainment and photo shoots!” The brewers tweeted.

Some fans didn’t like it when they saw the plans for the event.

“Baseball games used to be places you could take your kids to,” one wrote, according to CBN News.

“Wow, it looks awful,” commented a third, “I’ve been a Brewer fan my whole life. I’m done with them.
