The 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, to be held in Qatar this year, will see the largest participation of Asian teams, with six players qualifying for the World Cup for the first time in its history.
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar will be attended by Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Iran and Qatar, the “host country”, in addition to the Australian team.
Australia booked the final runner-up finish, the penultimate 31st qualifying card for World Cup competition later this year, by beating Peru, fifth in South American qualifiers, on penalties in the qualifying playoffs.

Previous editions of the World Cup have witnessed an increase in the participation of teams in Asia, as there were 4 teams in the 2014 edition, then 5 teams in the 2018 edition and finally the most with 6 teams in the Qatar World Cup 2022..
South Korea is the Asian team with the most participants in the World Cup with 11 copies, followed by the Japanese team with 7 participations, then Saudi Arabia, Iran and Australia with 6 participations.
