Barcelona head coach Javi Hernandez has sent a request to the Spanish club regarding Ousmane Dembele.

Dembele’s current contract expires on June 30, and there are no agreements to extend it.

In the current summer transfer season, Dembele has been linked with more than one club such as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

And the English newspaper Daily Mail reported that Xavi hoped to keep Dembele’s services at Barcelona.

She explained that Xavi had asked Barcelona management to make one last attempt to keep the 25-year-old at Camp Nou.

She indicated that Xavi and his coaching staff fear they will miss out on some contracts, such as Leeds United player Rafinha, who is valued at £60m and is currently in talks with Arsenal.

Xavi is reportedly aware that renewing Dembele’s contract would make good economic case, especially since the deal with Rafinha seems to be very difficult.
