Barcelona is working at full speed to activate the first economic lever that will allow them to close the 2021-202 financial year without a loss.

This is an important goal to ensure that board members’ approval is not jeopardized and that they stop making losses for the third year in a row.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta and Edvard Romeo are currently negotiating with several investment funds to transfer 10% of television rights for a period of 25 years.

This offer will bring the club about 200 million euros, according to the Spanish newspaper “Marca”.

At the moment, Barcelona is considering placing only 10% of said rights on the market, with each tranche of 10% representing around €200m, so the maximum that can be reached in this chapter is €500m.

It is very important for the club to give the green light to this process, because the deadline expires in a week.

Another leverage that is being negotiated but will not come into effect until June 30 is the sale of 49% to BLM (Barcelona Licenses and Trade).
