Serbian player Novak Djokovic explained that classification is not a priority for him and that it affects other players more than him, despite the fact that he lost 2000 points due to the ATP decision not to award points due to a ban Russian and Belarusian players in the Wimbledon Open.
In a conversation with him, Djokovic said: “This will affect other players more than me, I don’t want to say that it’s not important, but for me it’s not as important as it used to be.”
He added: “Now I don’t chase rankings like I used to, whenever I wanted to break Federer’s record, but it’s not that important in terms of priority, I couldn’t defend 4,000 thousand points between Australia and Wimbledon, this of course affects me, but my priorities are different.”
And regarding the exclusion of players from Russia and Belarus from participating in Wimbledon, he concluded: “I don’t quite agree with the ban on them to play, I don’t see how they could help in everything that happened, I don’t think it’s fair. , I would also consider it unfair if this happened to me without my contribution to the ongoing conflict.”
