Coach Britney Greener: “If it’s LeBron, he’s home, right?”

Britney Griner, star coach of the Women’s National Basketball Association, criticized Joe Biden’s White House for doing nothing to help the player get out of prison, where he spent nearly five months in Russia.

Griner was arrested at a Russian airport and charged with “drug smuggling” after allegedly containing a CBD vape cartridge in his luggage. Since then, he has been rotting in a Russian prison.

Today, Griner coach Vanessa Nygaard suggested that Biden did nothing to help the player because he was a woman.

Nygaard said on Monday that if the Russians arrest someone like LeBron James, Biden will have the Russians drop the charges and release the player.

“If it’s LeBron, he’s home, right?” He said, according to Fox News. “This is a statement about the value of women. This is a statement about the value of the black man. This is a statement about the value of being gay. Everything. And we know. I mean, that hurts more. ”

Nygaard added that Griner finally received a letter from Russia and sent it to the Biden White House, but so far without success.

The coach reported that Griner specifically wrote: “I’m afraid that as I sit here, in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympic jersey, or any achievement, I could be narito forever.”

“On July 4, our family often honors those who fought for our freedom, including my father, who was a Vietnam War veteran,” Griner said. “It saddens me to think about how I usually celebrate this day, because this year freedom means something completely different to me.”

“Do your best to get us home. I voted and voted for you for the first time in 2020. I believe in you. There are still so many good things I can do in my freedom and you can help get it back,” he said. “I miss my wife! I miss my family! I miss my teammates! It’s killing me now that they’re in so much pain. I am grateful for everything you can do to get me home right now, ”the actress concluded.

Adrienne Watson, spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, said in a press release, “We believe the Russian Federation is illegally holding Britney Griner. President Biden has declared that all US citizens taken hostage or illegally detained abroad, including Britney Greener, must be released. The U.S. government continues to actively work using all available means to bring it home.”
