Slovenian Emirates rider Tadi Bogakar led the Tour de France overall standings by winning the sixth stage of the race over a distance of around 220km.

And the 23-year-old Slovene hit hard in the last 500 meters, which went to the finish of the stage in 4.27.13 hours, the difference in final speed between the Australian Michael Mathews and the Frenchman David Godot, who finished second and third.

Bogacar snatched the overall lead from the Belgian Vot van Aert, who was content with 103rd place at this stage, 7 minutes and 28 seconds behind the Slovenian, which led to a significant decrease in the standings, while the American Nelson Paulis became the second, 4 seconds behind Bogcar and Dane Jonas, Weingegaard was third, 31 seconds back.
