England’s Raheem Sterling, Manchester City winger, sent an impressive message to Sky Blue fans ahead of his move to Chelsea this summer’s Mercato.

Sterling traveled to the United States to join his new teammates after completing his £45m move to Stamford Bridge.

Sterling tweeted: “The seven years he spent at Etihad gave him ‘memories of a lifetime’ what a journey it was, seven seasons. Eleven Grand Prix, memories for a lifetime.”

He added: “To the coaching staff who have played a huge role in my development over the years, my teammates who have become so much more than just those I share on the field, backstage staff, office staff and fans who tirelessly supported the team and everyone who took part in it. At Manchester City, I have a lot of respect for you.”

He continued, “What a journey it has been. It was these difficulties that tested my strength and determination from time to time and allowed me to appear before you as the best possible version of myself.

Sterling joined Manchester City from Liverpool in 2015 for £49m and scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for the club.
