Lebanon coach Gad Al-Haj expressed his joy and satisfaction with the team’s important and historic victory over New Zealand 86-72 in the second round of the group stage of the Asian Basketball Nations Cup. which took place in Indonesia.

In a private interview with the correspondent of the Sport website Issa Yasin, the coach admitted that the task today was difficult, given the high technical level of the opponent.

The coach added that the opponent’s physical and aggressive style of play was obvious, but in this match the Cedars successfully achieved their goal.

Al-Hajj praised the players’ great efforts on defense as well as the great focus on the attacking side throughout the match, which was represented by a team with only four assists per match.

At the end of his speech, Al-Haj stressed that now all attention is focused on the upcoming match with India, although the team secured access to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
