Riots in Los Angeles cloud the MLB All-Star Game

Los Angeles is gearing up to host the Major League Baseball All-Star Game for the first time since 1980 amid a crime wave, drought, homelessness and economic crisis.

While the city retains its Hollywood brilliance and brilliance, its All-Star event roster includes Santa Monica’s “beach cleanup” project for those involved in community service—a subtle acknowledgment of the fact that cities and counties are struggling to avoid streets and beaches. clean and safe.

The murder of NASCAR star racer Bobby East by a parolee homeless person at a Westminster gas station last week shocked the sports world and underlined that Los Angeles and California in general have a huge crime problem. ” . justice reforms

The gas station where the murder took place was off Highway 405, not in a quiet or isolated location. In other words: what happens in the East can happen to anyone.

Voters are awaiting the results of an official review of more than 700,000 signatures by activists seeking to bring back local district attorney George Gascon, who continues his radical policies despite the consequences. Gascon was backed by billionaire George Soros and the entire local establishment of the Democratic Party. Gavin Newsom, who has implemented a similar policy in San Francisco that encourages residents and businesses to exit.

Last year’s All-Star Game was moved from Atlanta to Denver due to concerns about Georgia’s new voting laws, which are more liberal than laws in many blue states. California has the most liberal law: “balloting” is legal, meaning that activists can vote on an unlimited number of other people’s ballots. Republicans remain competitive in parts of the state simply because they choose to play the ballot: cheating has become mandatory.

Statewide, California is a one-party state as GOP voters—small business owners and homeowners—have fled for years. But during the pandemic, Asian and Latino voters are shifting to the right, angry at crime and closing public schools.

Visitors to California have yet to realize the state’s water restrictions after the third year of drought. But local lawns are starting to die due to regulations against watering more than twice a week. A massive fire in the central part of the state last week threatened the power grid, and another fire kept tourists away from parts of Yosemite National Park.

Traffic congestion in the city is worse than ever as attempts to encourage residents to use public transport have failed. The Los Angeles subway now connects downtown to the beach, but locals avoid it due to the large number of homeless commuters. Every few minutes, public service ads are played on the train, reminding passengers that sexual harassment is prohibited on the subway, which means that there is a serious problem that people, especially women, should be concerned about.

Drivers will notice the spike in oil prices the highest in the country. This reflects the astronomical cost of living in Southern California, which could rise even higher if Democrats raise taxes even higher.

It’s getting harder and harder for the American working class to make a living: Last week, trucks closed a port in protest against AB 5, which requires independent contractors to be employees. This is just one of many good rules that affect Californians.

The city that hosted the 1980 All-Star Game is at the height of its self-confidence. Today, Los Angeles is grappling with the burden of a generation of “progressive” politicians. But again, baseball isn’t what it used to be.
