Just one day after Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray came under “disrespectful” criticism for questioning his work ethic, the team removed the “homework” clause from his contract.
Murray on Thursday took aim at critics who wondered why the Arizona Cardinals needed to add a clause to his $230 million contract that required him to watch live-action movies four hours a week.
Murray said it was “joking” and “disrespectful” for the media to undermine work ethic by questioning the need for such a contract clause.
“It’s disrespectful and almost a joke to think that I can achieve everything I’ve accomplished and still haven’t learned the game and didn’t have that passion and take it seriously,” Murray said on Thursday. Said.

But now the Cardinals have bowed to the pressure and removed the “learning-independent” clause from the player’s contract, according to Insider.
“We removed the app from the contract to make this a distraction,” the Cardinals said in a statement. “It was received in ways that were obviously not intended. We’ve never had more confidence in Kyler Murray and nothing shows our confidence in his ability to lead this team more than the promise of this contract.”

Frankly, the team isn’t sure if Murray will have time off the court to stay at the top, but the pressure is very strong at this point.
