Aaron Rodgers says psychedelics helped him have ‘best season of his career’

It’s unclear how many NFL players consider ayahuasca a performance-enhancing drug, but after it was revealed recently on Aaron Rogers’ podcast, there’s probably much more to it.

in a speech Aubrey Marcus PodcastRogers says past use of the psychedelic drug, especially ayahuasca, has helped him learn to “love himself unconditionally.” Something Rodgers believes helped him have the best season of his career in 2021.

“To me, one of the fundamental principles of your mental health is to love yourself,” Rogers said on the podcast.

“That’s what ayahuasca did for me, it helped me understand how to love myself unconditionally.”

“With this unconditional love for myself, I can truly love others unconditionally. And what better way to work on your mental health than to have this type of experience?”

Ayahuasca is a psychoactive tea that contains the hallucinogenic drug DMT.

When Rogers’ experience with ayahuasca ended, he described this emotion as describing rebirth.

“After that I lay on the mat and then I opened my eyes and felt like I opened my eyes for the first time,” Rogers said.

“I really feel that this experience paved the way for the best season of my career.”

Rodgers has always been the leader of his team since Brett Favre was hired in 2008. However, he says psychedelics showed him a new way to control them.

“I think the greatest gift I can give my teammates is the opportunity to show myself and be someone who can show them unconditional love,” the former Super Bowl champion said.

“They don’t care what you say until they know how important you are.”

This “unconditional love” will no doubt be appreciated by the Packers team, which went through a reset process after several senior players left the team last year. In March, Rodgers signed a massive $150 million contract extension that guaranteed him to finish his career at Green Bay.
