Italian decathlete Alberto Nonino suffered an unfortunate wardrobe malfunction Thursday at the World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Cali, Colombia.
18-year-old Nonino reportedly started the race strong and outstripped most of his opponents in the first leg of the race, but he started having trouble when the other leg’s penis moved and began to slide into his running shorts. .
Soon, Nonino began to lose their place in the race as he was busy covering his groin with his hands.

Nonino said she was devastated by the whole incident, but her friends and family helped her get through her disastrous career and the teasing she later received on the internet.
“I wanted to talk to you a little bit about the hype circulating on blogs and social media in general,” Nonino wrote. “I know it was clearly an accident and I want to tell you that I know the backlash and you don’t have to post links to blogs to me. I’m trying to laugh at this now but I felt really bad afterwards and I thank my friends and family for helping me get through what happened a few hours later.”
