Manchester United manager Eric Ten Hag has confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo will continue at the club this season.

And it has been confirmed that Ronaldo has officially asked to leave United during the current summer transfer period to join a side that guarantees him a Champions League spot.

During a press conference before the match between United and Brentford, scheduled for today in the second round of the English Premier League, Ten Hag was asked if Ronaldo really wanted to leave. Twitter: “That’s your guess, not what Ronaldo tells me.”

He added: “I’m dealing with the players that we have and we’re planning for Ronaldo this season and we need to get him on the team.”

He concluded: “Ronaldo must reach the proper level of fitness to be able to play the role expected of him this season.”
