Veteran Leonardo Bonucci credits Italy with showing “pride, heart and courage” against England in the Nations League.

Italy beat England 1-0 at the San Siro Stadium on matchday 5 of the group stage of the third edition of the tournament.

“I asked Jack to break into places where I can succeed, so we made the most of the situation,” Bonucci told Football Italia after the match.

“The support of the fans today was very important, they asked us to show pride, courage and courage, which we did.”

On the match against Hungary: “Our goal in the confrontation is to take first place. If we achieve this, it will show that this team is already growing, but this will not return us to the World Cup, but will remain an impetus to move forward.”

Italy failed to reach the final of the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 after losing to Portugal in the play-off round.
