Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo is under fire for his exclusion from the starting XI for Portugal’s match against Spain, according to press reports.

And the British newspaper The Sun pointed out that Ronaldo was recently criticized by the Portuguese media, in addition to the fans, for a poor performance.

Ronaldo was a key player in the 4-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the last round of the Nations League, but the Portuguese did not score a single goal.

And the Portuguese newspaper “Abola” published about Cristiano after the match and said: “A little more Ronaldo, even more Portugal.” The newspaper also urges Ronaldo not to participate mainly against Spain due to the few minutes he has been involved and the goals he has scored this season.

The newspaper is also reportedly suggesting that Portugal captain Bruno Fernandes will take the field against Spain. The newspaper also conducted an opinion poll about Ronaldo, and 57% of fans voted for the Manchester United star not to participate mainly against Spain.
